How long does it take to learn kitesurfing?
Most of our students start with no experience at all, and most of them stand up for their first rides after about 6 hours of lessons. That usually takes 2 to 3 days, depending on the wind and on you.
Some people get there in less time. If you can do the drill your instructor explains, we simply move on to the next exercise. Other people need a little more time, and that is completely fine. Everyone learns at their own pace.
How do you teach?
As the IKO Pro Center of Sharm El Sheikh, we follow the IKO standards, and over the years we have adapted our own teaching methods to get people kiting safely and quickly. Every lesson combines the theory with practical exercises on the beach and in the water, so you always understand what you are doing and why.
What happens after my first rides?
Once you are riding your first steps and can manage your equipment safely in the area and around other riders, you can rent full equipment and practise on your own. Some students prefer to add more hours with an instructor to progress faster and learn more skills. Both are great options.
Which course should I book?
What most people call “a kitesurfing course” is our Discovery + Intermediate courses together. That is what takes you from zero to your first rides. If you want to become a fully independent rider, our full course covers all three IKO levels and works out cheaper than booking each level separately.
See all levels here: IKO kitesurfing courses.
What are the wind conditions like?
Nabq Bay has a flat, shallow lagoon that is ideal for learning, and the wind is reliable for most of the year. October and November, for example, are treating us super well as usual.
Check the best time to kitesurf in Sharm El Sheikh, the wind forecast, or the live wind from our own weather station on the beach.
How much does it cost?
You can find all our current lesson prices here: kitesurfing lessons and prices. We teach both private and small group lessons, with 2 to 3 students per group.
Is the equipment included?
Yes, everything is included. All the kitesurfing gear, equipment insurance during your lessons, and the right clothing for the weather. No surprise costs on the beach.
What should I bring?
Just your swimsuit and sunscreen. And if you forget them, don’t worry, we can provide them for you.
Can you pick me up from my hotel?
Yes, we can arrange your transfer to our Beach Center from anywhere in Sharm El Sheikh, at your own expense. If you book one of our kitesurf holiday packages, airport transfers are already included.
