Dahab Kitesurfing competition!

We are thrilled to be part of one of the biggest kitesurfing competitions.

This has happened this year in Dahab. This beautiful town is known for its windy conditions. Its a fact also that it has some perfect playgrounds for kitesurfing competitions. Dahab is located on the Gulf of Aqaba. The wind blows down through the Gulf making Dahab generally very windy. This awesome kitesurfing competition took place in the baby bay where the wind generally blows entirely on shore. Spectators had a blast because this creates an incredible stage at the beach.

Dahab offers a variety of kite spots that are perfect for intermediate and advanced kite-surfers. You can choose between shallow flat water lagoons or deep water lagoons. Add to that some unforgettable kitesurfing trips to remote lagoons only accessible by foot or a camel. They are magical kite spots, and many people have said this is one of their favorite kitesurfing destinations in the world.

What is everyone looking for when searching for a kitesurfing spot?

There are a variety of spots to explore and discover around Egypt perfect for every rider whether you are a complete beginner, freestyle pro or a wave chaser. Though there are various amazing spots along the Sinai Peninsula. The wind blows through the whole year though the most consistent months are April through October. The summer months are warm and a wetsuit is not needed, a shorty is recommended in the spring and fall and a long 3/2mm in the winter. Join us and stay in a beachfront hotel or travel along the coast on a kite safari- adventure awaits!

Undoubtedly, in shallow water it will be easier to learn how to put the board on and to recover it every time you lose it; but for this same reason, you could easily get spoiled and not learn how to rescue the board with the body-drag technique when you lose it (which is very typical of those who learned in shallow water). You could, therefore, find yourself uncomfortable when kiting in deep-water spots. Also, in shallow water, it is easier to hit the bottom when you crash or fall, with also the added chance of obstacles or dangers just underneath the surface. Always stay where the water is at least heaps–high and ask the locals about the spot before entering the water.

Our spot is a mix of picturesque setting; tucked between the Mountains and the red sea, flat water and warm climate. The wind is mostly stable with a constant side-onshore blowing speed in the range of 15-to-20 knots.

The Kite Bubble kitesurfing spot is chosen for its spacious waters and breathtaking nature views. Unlike other spots in the area of Nabq, Speed boat’s or jetties are not interrupting. Nabq Bay’s spot offers a riding area guarded by reefs which creates relatively shallow and flat waters. The spot has stable wind on most days during morning hours with perfect consistency. The reef means that the tides doesn’t affect our riding area. This will give you hours of uninterrupted play time.

The temperatures are warm, with constant side on-shore wind, and on average there more than 70% good kiting days each year. The conditions are perfect for kiters of all levels with a lagoon that has flat water with a sandy bottom.

Our lagoon is also unique as even during low tide we still have good water depth to kitesurf safely, allowing our guests to get out and have a session anytime during the entire day.

There is a high and low tide every 12 hours with up to 80cm difference in water depth between them. We have thousands of square meters of soft, sandy bottom flat water off of our beach, so there is always somewhere to find a safe depth for your experience. Come and kite in Sharm El Sheikh with us!

Going downwind is quite a different experience and definitely a new adventure. As you go downwind, the power of the kite is reduced and no need to edge the board. You will cover long distances quickly, and relax and have a good look around. Learning new skills will for sure add another dimension to the sport. You will be able to try some Toeside riding and long carved turns without worrying about losing ground.

The Kite Bubble downwind trip combines a sense of adventure with sightseeing. We will travel a considerable distance watching the high chain mountains of Sinai. It is a breath taking experience along Nabq’s national park on the Gulf of Aqaba waters. The downwind trip ends with the beautiful luxury beach resorts scenery right before entering our territory at Coral sea water world resort beach.

How Does it work?

With the meeting point at The Kite Bubble at 7:30am on a windy day, We start our trip. The Bus drives us for about 30 minutes upwind inside Nabq’s national park. We start setting up our Kites with the help of our guides. For the Nabq downwind trip our team at The Kite Bubble provides beach helpers, IKO instructors, first aid kit, rescue boat. With our briefing about every detail about the trip and our technical support at all time, you will feel the most ease and safety during Nabq downwind trip. The rescue boat with an IKO instructor on board is having an eye on every rider on the water. An IKO instructor is guiding the riders and another one behind the whole group.
